It only works with a straight, thin monitor. Thickness approx. 10 mm over the entire rear surface

Is this the "Youth version" or the "Fighting version"? It's not clear because the pictures show both versions (see bracket)! In the comments, people complain that the lamp is only suitable for flat monitors (which is true for the Youth version), but the Fighting version can be mounted on wider monitors without any problems.

My version is a Youth version and according to the instruction booklet is suitable for monitors up to 20mm thick. With a thicker monitor, it would no longer be possible to bring the counterweight into a vertical position and the clip would therefore no longer grip properly.

Does such a device also make sense with a curved monitor, with regard to possible light reflection on the sides of the curved screen?

Rather not, the mount is not really designed for curved monitors.

how far can the lamp be swivelled? Can it also be pointed upwards, for example?

The lamp cannot be swivelled sideways (left/right), but it can be adjusted vertically, as can be seen in the following product video (min. 3:50): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jYKHza2G7g
