No, unfortunately not, the data can be read but nothing more, a music CD does not work either, the drive runs and runs etc. and nothing happens.
Unfortunately, the product data is somewhat incomplete. The two suppliers are the same product apart from the colour. There is even a gold-coloured version. The product can read and write CDs/DVDs and is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 or higher. The gaps in the product data will be corrected shortly 😉
If the unit has a USB connection, which is to be expected, there should be no problem with the connection.
I can hardly imagine that. With a DVD, it could also be due to the region code, a kind of protection against copies. Is the DVD possibly not from Europe? These are the formats that the drive can read: DVD-ROMi, DVD-Ri, DVD+Ri, DVD-RWi, DVD+RW. It works perfectly on a Mac Book Pro for me.
I use the same device and have no problems. Moreover, according to the Asus specs there are no restrictions. The range is even very complete, especially the m-discs
Is the device listed under USB in the profiler? https://support.apple.com/de-de/HT203001
I don't remember if it came with a Type-A cable, but it came with a Type-C cable. That's what I use!
According to the manufacturer, the product comes with Nero Back It Up, which makes backups. A burning software in the actual sense is not included. Either you burn with the integrated burning function of Windows or you install a separate burning software (e.g. CD-Burner XP). To use the special feature for very long-lasting copies, M-Disk DVDs must be used. Link: Verbatim M-Disc DVD R, 4x, 4.7GB, JewelCase (5x)
