As far as I know, all Gen3 MBs have an M.2 connector.

I recommend taking a look at the manual for the mainboard. This could clarify things

ok?!
For some time now, I have been having a problem with DisplayPort. I am using two displays, one connected with HDMI, the other with DisplayPort.
The display connected with a DisplayPort cable keeps flickering. I have tried resetting my PC, updating the latest BIOS version, removing the power cable from the display for a while to reset it, updating the monitor drivers and the graphics card, nothing works.
Do you have any idea?
Also, the graphics card (built into this motherboard) is INTEL (R) UHD Graphics 630.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions for resolution.
Since the socket of the mainboard (LGA 1200) alone does not match that of the CPU (LGA 1151), all other questions are invalid. Not taken into account? You mention it specifically with the CPU...
You will have a hard time buying a new board for an i5 6600K. The CPU is over 5 years old and hasn't been sold for about 2 years. If you really want to upgrade, look for used ones on Ricardo, Tutti, etc.
Note: Each manufacturer provides a list of supported CPUs for each mainboard. For this one it would be https://rog.asus.com/ch-de/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z490-g-gaming-wi-fi-model/helpdesk_cpu
