As this is a barebone model, RAM and storage are not included in the scope of delivery. You will therefore need to buy additional DDR5 RAM and an SSD to fully utilise the system. The barebone includes the case, motherboard and processor.
The main difference between the two ASUS NUC 14 Pro+ models lies in the processor options and memory customisation. Here are some of the key differences:
- Processor: the model on Galaxus uses the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H, while the other model also offers this processor, but also has other options such as the Core Ultra 7 and 9.
- Memory: Both models support up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM, but the model on Galaxus could have different memory options depending on the configuration.
- Design and size: The Pro+ version has a smaller chassis as it does not support a 2.5-inch SATA mechanism, making the design more compact.
Overall, both models offer similar functions such as Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, but the Pro+ version is generally more compact and may offer better ergonomics for upgrades.
This version is compatible with Linux, as ASUS NUC models usually support various Linux distributions. However, there are occasional issues with certain hardware components, such as graphics drivers, that may not be fully supported in Linux. It is advisable to check the specific Linux compatibility details for the model to ensure that all functions work as expected.
The PC comes with 96 GB of DDR5 memory already installed. The SSD capacity is not explicitly stated as pre-installed, but it supports M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs, typically up to 4 TB; some configurations include a 1 TB SSD, but storage may vary by model or require installation separately. The memory (DIMM) is installed, but SSD may not be included by default depending on the specific configuration.

Here are 3 SSDs that are compatible and recommended by the manufacturer.

Regarding the two identical Asus NUC 14 Pro+ models on Galaxus, the price difference could come from different suppliers on the platform or from multiple suppliers. These are often minor variations such as packaging or delivery conditions, which are not always visible in the product description.
I'm not completely sure, but I had an SSD (WD Black SN850P with Heatsink for PS5) and it didn't fit, I had to remove the heatsink. So I would assume that the 990 Pro with heatsink won't fit either.
Exactly, only SSD and RAM. And you also need a power cable, I think it's called a "c5 power cable", it's a standard one that you often have lying around.
