Yes, the Siri Remote can also be used for a MacBook, but not directly out of the box. However, there are a few ways to pair and use the Siri Remote with your MacBook: Options: SiriMote: This app allows you to use the Siri Remote as a kind of universal remote control for your Mac. You can use it to control various media players and even use the remote's touchpad as a mouse. Remote Buddy: Similar to SiriMote, Remote Buddy also allows you to use the Siri Remote to control various Mac applications. MacOS restrictions: By default, Siri Remote is not fully compatible with macOS. The apps mentioned above extend the functionality and enable more comprehensive use. What you should keep in mind: MacOS version: Make sure that your macOS fulfils the requirements for the respective app. Bluetooth: Your MacBook must support Bluetooth 4.0 or later. Pairing: The Siri Remote must be paired with your MacBook. The exact procedure may vary depending on the app.
When connecting, it doesn't matter which firmware, press the screen symbol button and plus button simultaneously until Siri Remote is recognised by the Apple TV, if it still doesn't work, press another button and hold plus until it is recognised. The feel of the Siri Remote has been improved compared to the original remote control.
Yes, this remote control is also compatible with other Apple TV models.
No cable is supplied. And the connection is USB-C
I have never had this before, but I found this on the internet to reset the remote, maybe this helps (https://support.apple.com/de-de/HT203777): If your remote does not work as expected, try restarting the remote: Press and hold the TV/Control Centre button and the Volume Down button at the same time. Hold the buttons down for about 5 seconds until the Apple TV status indicator goes out and then lights up again. Release the buttons. Then wait 5 to 10 seconds until the TV screen displays the message "Connection lost". The remote control will restart. When the message "Connected" appears, you can use the remote control again. Good luck!
It works, but I would take this one, it is universally usable and also comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, it also costs less and has more power. Baseus Super Si Set Quick Charger (25 W, Power Delivery 3.0, Quick Charge 3.0)
Yes, that should work. I have an old Bose Home Cinema and I can control the volume with the remote control.
Yes, the Apple Siri Remote is compatible with any "normal" Apple TV (Apple TV HD), regardless of whether it is a 4K version or not. The Siri Remote functionality is available to all Apple TV models and can be used to control your Apple TV easily and conveniently.
I use the remote with an Apple TV 4K - 2nd generation, had the same question and according to the Apple website the remote is compatible with all generations of Apple TV 4K. The important thing is to have Apple tvOS 15.4 installed.
