Hello Urs. I use a Macbook Pro M4 with 32 GB of RAM. I mainly use it for music production with Logic 11 and for video editing. It works perfectly and quickly. I can't judge M5 performance. In my opinion, the size of the RAM is crucial for smooth working. You can never get enough of it :)

The M4 notebook is used by my wife. 16 GB is more than enough. But of course I don't know what will happen in 7-10 years' time. I myself have a Mac with M2 Pro (weaker than M4 without Pro) and 16 GB. I play Baldur's Gate 3 on it without any problems.

Few ISPs give 10Gbits and you still need to use the right Ethernet port. In my opinion, this is illusory, there are a lot of factors to take into account, so it's only theoretical and will depend on the intermediate hardware 😅

Is very susceptible to fingerprints. You can read that everywhere on the internet. Otherwise it looks good and you can't see the edge of the screen, which I find more pleasant.
When we got one of these, I ended up going to digitec in Geneva. I am personally very wary of the delivery times from digitec.

Hello, this is not paint but anodising (a coloured oxide layer formed on the surface of aluminium). For the last 1 month there has been nothing to report in terms of wear on mine. However, anodising doesn't like knocks, so you have to place the magnetic connector carefully, otherwise it will knock and damage the oxide layer. Note that grey Macbooks also have anodising (but neutral, without colour), but the impact is less visible because the aluminium is the same colour as the anodising, so the resistance is the same between grey and black.
