I don't know about CAD. I edit videos and graphic vector drawings all the time and it works great. I have a large external monitor.

If you press the "power button" for longer (10 seconds) and then again as when switching on, nothing happens? no Mac gong? When the power supply is plugged in, does it light up (green or orange)? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204267 LG

The Apple Macbook Air 2020 has an M1 processor, but as far as I know it can only be used with an external display. With such a dual screen solution, I would definitely switch to a high-resolution 4K UHD display. A very cost-effective solution would be this screen, for example, because it offers a 4K 3840x2160 pixel resolution and also a USB-C port, so that the Macbook can be charged at the same time. It's available in black, but perhaps a white model would also suit the Mac? Samsung Smart Monitor M7 S32BM701UU (3840 x 2160 Pixels, 32 ") 1 x 32 inches takes up much less space on the table than, say, 2 x 24 inches with 1920x1080 pixels and a 4K 3840x2160 pixel screen would be able to use twice the number of pixels, so you would see twice as much content in less space.

I suppose that you are talking about the "Back to school" offer: https://www.macworld.com/article/673191/get-free-airpods-in-apples-back-to-uni-sale-2022.html#:~:text=What%20is%20Apple's%20deal%20for%202022%3F,-Free%20AirPods%20(2nd&text=Thanks%20to%20the%20deal%20university,AirPods%20or%20the%20AirPods%20Pro. Unfortunately, we do not participate in this promotion.

Do you mean QWERTY? In Switzerland I do believe this can be ordered from Apple directly (but often digitec gives better deals). The easiest option is to simply set the QWERTZ keyboard layout to QWERTY and swap the Z with the Y and type as you would normally. Either that or order a QWERTY external keyboard and type with that.
