If the status display flashes: If the status indicator on the MagSafe 3 connector flashes yellow repeatedly, try the following steps: Disconnect the USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable from the Mac and the power adapter. Disconnect the USB-C power adapter from the power outlet. Use a dry cloth to clean the MagSafe 3 connector and the MagSafe 3 plug. Make sure that both the connector and the plug are dry and free of foreign objects. Make sure that the USB-C port on the power supply and the USB-C plug are free of foreign objects. Restart the Mac. Connect the USB-C power adapter to the power outlet, connect the USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable to the power adapter and the Mac, and then try charging the device again. If the status indicator continues to flash, contact Apple.

Hey, we both have the M1 MBPro and the M2 MBA here at home, I would say without having measured exactly that the M2 MBA is faster, although not by much. I can't tell you how it looks under extreme demands, but even with the Pro I rarely hear the fan start up.
