If you make notes in e-books from the Kindle Store on the Kindle Scribe, these are automatically synchronised with your Amazon account. Even if you later delete the book from the device or use a new device, both the book and the notes remain in the cloud and are available again at any time.
The contents of your own documents or PDFs with handwritten notes are not automatically backed up. You should export these manually or upload them via "Send to Kindle" to save them for the long term.
You therefore don't necessarily have to choose the model with the largest memory as long as you mainly use Kindle e-books and employees with the Amazon cloud. Regular backups are recommended for your own files.
Yes, 16 GB is easily enough for normal reading.
You can delete eBooks and load them again later.
You can see all purchases centrally if you use the same Amazon account.
We use the images authorised by the manufacturer.

No. Here are related facts from my own 32 GB gen 1 Kindle Scribe:
- From 32 GB only 25.66 GB is left available after Amazon has served itself
- I have 668 items (ebooks, PDF, etc.) on my Scribe and still 22.54 GB left to use

When the e-book is open, briefly tap the page twice at the very top of the margin, then the function bar appears with symbol "A" for topics etc., with the symbol "three lines" for contents and popular markings, with the symbol "rectangle" for markings and annotations, with the symbol "superscript label" for positions, with the symbol "magnifying glass" for the search function and the symbol "three vertical dots" for further options with information on the book, etc. The function bar disappears when the page is tapped further down.

I would recommend, as the error message states, that you contact Customer Service for the Kindle. They can check your account and give you more information as to why this error message is appearing.
