Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Special Offer (2018)
6", 32 GB, Black
I bought this e-reader and indeed the audio function is blocked on an Amazon France account. It's a real shame.
The "Special Offer" variant (10684211) displays advertisements on the lock screen. These are advertisements. On the one hand, they fill the screen on the sleep screen (when the eReader is in standby) and on the other hand, they appear as a small banner on the start page. These usually contain special offers on eBooks and Kindle accessories. There are no advertisements while reading the eBook.
In general, all Paperwhite models from 2018 onwards. With this Kindle, you can purchase books via Wi-Fi.
According to our research, the 32 GB model can also support PDF. Thank you for pointing this out.
It's typically referred to as "the 4th generation" AFAIK.
So that your question can possibly be answered, we have forwarded it directly to the community. This is because we unfortunately do not have an effective user experience with the product. It can be assumed that this will work. :)
Thank you very much for pointing this out. According to the product description, it would be without "Special Offer", however, according to our supplier, this Kindle is equipped with advertising. This seems to be an error in the product description, sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. We have forwarded this information to the relevant department and hope that this can be checked and adjusted in a timely manner.
According to our research, this product has advertisements.
Have you ever tried scrolling all the way down and then maybe it says accept or something?
According to our research, this product has built-in Bluetooth.
I think the only difference is, that you'll have ads on your kindle. I have the special offer and it doesn't bother me at all. You won't get ads while reading. The ads are on the screensaver and in the home menu.
Audio: Audio books sold by Amazon Kindle can be downloaded. Listening requires a Bluetooth-enabled headset or speakers. Own audio files cannot be listened to. Images: Only images that are included as illustrations in the books sold by Amazon Kindle can be displayed. Your own photos cannot be displayed. In addition, the screen can only display grey tones, not colours. Amazon Kindle is a closed system, which is probably part of the company's strategy. If you can live with these limitations, the Kindle Paperwhite is a fantastic device: I myself have about 400 books loaded, always with me when travelling, which is really great.
No, there is no possibility to put a SIM card on this model...
No, the Kindle Paperwhite 2018 doesn't support hebrew characters
Here is the answer from our product department: As Amazon is not officially available for Switzerland, the customer may need to use France as a country. Does she use the French Amazon portal (amazon.fr)? The customer may need to change the settings not only for their player, but also for their Amazon account.
In any case, the pixel resolution is the same. However, I have no possibility of comparison
Only on the lockscreen it says, but I never noticed it there either.
It is called special offers and costs less because it displays book offers and advertisements while it is on standby. The version without ads costs a bit more. I hope this answers your question!
You can load any book (in the correct format), just take the diversions via the computer. Calibre, for example, takes care of the conversion and transfer.
All known differences can be found here: https://www.digitec.ch/Comparison/10124450-12107288 .
Only the USB cable is included. Charger and case are not included.
Yes, it is possible, you have to convert it first, then you can transfer it without problems.
If your Kindle e-reader includes Special Offers, you'll receive Sponsored Screensavers and special offers, including personalized advertising, from Amazon directly on your device.
For me it's the same product but without the Special offers included
Yes, it's the Paperwhite which is IPX8 certified
No 4G capabilities.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you the exact differences yet, as the data for this article has not yet been stored. As soon as this has been done, you can compare them here: https://www.digitec.ch/de/Comparison/10684211-10124449 What I can currently tell you is that the two devices differ in the supplier :-)
So far, the article is not so marked, but I have this briefly clarified with our supplier. This is a variant with special offers. I will report the missing data.
