We ordered the 4k FireStick for Netflix with VPN. However, due to your question, I have just tried to access Prime Video with the stick. I get an error code - with and without VPN. I can access Prime Video on my computer without any problems. As I mentioned, we didn't buy the stick mainly because of Prime Video, but it seems a bit ridiculous to me that the in-house streaming service doesn't work on our own stick.
According to the manufacturer, this stick is compatible with Alexa and is described as follows: Start and control all your favourite movies and TV series with Alexa voice remote. Control compatible TVs, soundbars or receivers with on/off, volume and mute buttons. Experience thousands of apps, Alexa Skills and Channels, plus millions of websites like Facebook and Reddit. More possibilities with Alexa - see live images from supported cameras, ask for the weather report, dim lights and stream music. Learn more about other compatible smart home devices.
The Amazon Fire TV Sick allows you to receive television channels via the Internet using an app that is installed on the stick. One example is Zatoo. The reception of SRF 1 and SRF Sport depends on your Zatoo subscription. See on Internet Zatoo subscription ;-)
From which country is your account? Could be it won't allow to download from a foreign account. My 3 suggestions would be, either change country in your amazon account, create a new Swiss amazon account, or use a vpn.
Yes of course, all this works in Switzerland. 👍
No, it has the OS6 the stick is generation 2 and not 3 generation.
I got the 4k stick. Streaming via VLC Player from the NAS works without problems. I also use it for DTS-encoded films on the new Samsung TV, which (for whatever reason - what was Samsung thinking?!) only supports AC3. However, the 4k MKVs must not be too big because it jerks over WLAN (5 GHz).
Hello. You download apps for the Fire Stick via your Amazon account - i.e. all apps that you find on Amazon.de can be downloaded to the stick. I didn't find it on Amazon - so I think not. But Sky has its own stick, or via the app on the TV. In general, you can't watch any pay services (AmazonPrime, Netflix, Disney+ etc) for free. To be able to log in, you need an account + subscription with the corresponding provider.
Not according to the Amazon website. https://www.amazon.de/b?ie=UTF8&node=5862541031
Micro A is practically no longer available. What you need is something like this: InLine Micro-USB 2.0 cable (5m) The cable supplied is approx. 1.5 m long.
The specifications of both item numbers are identical. Apart from Galaxus/Digitec, there is no information anywhere about a 2nd Gen Fire Stick 4k. I assume Digitec Galaxus has made a mistake here. Personally, I just went for the cheaper version.
Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K mit Alexa (2.Gen) (Amazon Alexa) ist die 2te Generation und somit neuer
The loading time in the Zattoo menu is still catastrophic. It almost always takes >30 seconds to load a new line/channel. However, this seems to be due to Zattoo and not FireTV. Otherwise, this stick runs perfectly including the remote control. I no longer need the original Philipps remote control.
Works without problems. Very satisfied
Yes. You can.
Hello, 1.) If your TV has an HDMI connection 2.) Yes 3.) Yes you need to install the Zattoo app.
I bought the same one, but found out that this stick is useless for Switzerland because the offer is not available for Switzerland (error message 5505). You can get around this by using the app with your smartphone and then playing "Fire TV" works. I will send my device back and order the Fire TV Stick Basic Edition (international version), this stick is suitable for this. It's annoying that there is no indication in the description here.
