It is just enabling Android Auto "Wireless". So if you already use Android Auto, but you don't like to plug your phone to access it, it's worth it. If not, just continue using the cable, the experience is exactly the same. - I personnally plugged it in another USB port in my car that was not practical for the phone, so I can still plug my phone near my dashboard to charge it - I know someone who plugged it behind his dashboard, no idea if it's possible with your car
