Purecrea Moisture Sensor / Soil Moisture Sensor Module

With this soil moisture sensor, you can easily measure the moisture of plants and determine when the plant needs watering. The sensor consists of two parts that must be connected using the two included jumper cables. The measuring probe is inserted into the soil and measures the resistance of the earth, which changes with moisture levels. The evaluation module generates an analog value for the Arduino as well as a digital signal, the threshold of which can be adjusted using the potentiometer on the module. You can find a programming example for reading an analog sensor in the Arduino IDE under Examples/Analog/AnalogInput.
