Purecrea 16mm raised pushbutton with RGB illumination 5V - stainless steel

This 16mm momentary button with raised pushbutton has an illuminated RGB LED ring that can be controlled in different colours via an Arduino or other microcontroller. There are two gold contacts on the back for the button and four silver contacts, which are used once for the cathode and three times for the anode of the red, green and blue LEDs. The illuminated RGB button already has the series resistors internally. This means you can connect the LED lighting directly to your microcontroller without an additional series resistor. The resistors for the lighting are designed for 5V, but you can also operate them with 3.3V. If you want to use a higher voltage, e.g. 12VDC or 24VDC, then you simply need to add a 1kOhm resistor in series with the LED cathode to keep the LED current at approx. 20mA.

The best way to control the LED is via three PWM outputs on the microcontroller, so you can control your button with any colour.
