Product details
Remote control made easy. With this set consisting of an infrared LED (960nm) and a photodiode, you can remotely control your projects in the simplest way. The application is incredibly straightforward. Connect the photodiode (the black one) to the anode (+) with ground. Connect the photodiode to the cathode (-) with an input pin of your microprocessor. Add a pull-up resistor (e.g., 10k) between the cathode and VCC, or use the internal pull-up of the microprocessor. Connect the IR LED like a regular LED (e.g., with a 330-ohm resistor to 5V). The input pin of the microprocessor is set to high. Now, as soon as the photodiode receives a signal from the IR LED, the input pin switches to low. The range can reach up to 10 meters with a perfect setup and under ideal conditions. The LED voltage is 1.2V - 1.3V.
