Principles of memory installation: The memory slots are organized in groups of three. In each group of three, there can be a maximum of 2 slots for UDIMM ECC memory. In each group of three, there can also be a maximum of 2 slots for 4Rank RDIMM memory. The different groups of three slots do not need to have the same capacities. Only the memory slots corresponding to the respective CPU can be utilized.

Memory installation for optimal system performance: Distribute the memory evenly across the memory slots and across the CPUs. With three identical memory modules in each group of three slots, performance can be up to three times faster compared to populating the group with only one memory module. If more than one CPU is present, the memory should be installed identically (mirrored to the other CPU) for each CPU.
