The following technical details should be considered in advance: Each CPU supports 6 DIMMs per memory channel. 2 memory modules are used per memory channel. You can use RDIMM or LRDIMM memory. LRDIMM memory is particularly recommended when large memory capacities are needed. Registered DIMM and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules must not be mixed. Therefore, when upgrading, you should know which memory is already present or upgrade completely to either RDIMM or LRDIMM memory. Memory slots without a processor must not be populated. Higher memory frequencies may adapt to other memory clock rates in the system environment and correspondingly support slower clock rates.
