Principles of memory configuration:
The memory slots are organized in groups of three. The different groups of three slots do not need to have the same capacities. Only the memory slots where the respective CPU is present can be used.

Memory configuration for good system performance:
Distribute the memory evenly across the memory slots and evenly across the CPUs. With three identical memory modules per group of three slots, performance can be up to three times faster compared to a configuration of the group with only one memory module. If more than one CPU is present, the memory should be configured identically (mirrored to the other CPU) per CPU.
