This 8GB RAM is 100% compatible with HP ProLiant BL685c Gen7 (G7).
Information on memory configuration: The maximum capacity of 1024GB in total or 256GB per CPU can be achieved with RDIMM memory. With UDIMM ECC memory, the maximum is 32GB per CPU or 128GB in total. Memory slots without a processor present must not be populated. ECC DIMMs and Registered DIMMs must not be mixed. Therefore, when upgrading, you should know which memory is already installed or upgrade completely to RDIMM. Memory configuration for system performance: Optimal performance is achieved with 4 or 8 identical memory modules per CPU. The memory should be installed identically per CPU (mirrored to the other CPU).
