You can configure up to 16 riser boards with Intel chipset, each having 2 DIMM slots per riser board (32 DIMM slots and a maximum of 512GB RAM). Alternatively, you can configure up to 16 riser boards with memory expansion ASIC, each having 4 DIMM slots per riser board (64 DIMM slots and a maximum of 1024GB RAM). It is not recommended to configure with fewer than 4 memory modules. Only the memory slots associated with the respective CPU can be used.

For optimal system performance, you achieve the best results when using 8 or 16 identical memory modules per CPU. The memory should be installed across two memory boards per CPU. The memory should be identical per CPU (mirrored to the other CPU).
