This 8GB RAM is 100% compatible with the Tyan S7050 (S7050WGM4NR). What memory configuration is possible? Our memory team is happy to assist you in choosing the right RAM and configuring your server.

RAM technology per CPU:
Maximum possible memory configuration (with 2 CPUs, each with 8 slots):

• RDIMM 2Rank: 256GB RAM (2 x 8 x 16GB RDIMM)
• RDIMM 4Rank: 1TB RAM (2 x 8 x 32GB RDIMM)
• LRDIMM: 1TB RAM (2 x 8 x 64GB LRDIMM)

ECC DIMM, Registered DIMM, and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules must not be mixed. Therefore, when upgrading, you should know which memory is already installed, or upgrade completely to RDIMM memory.

Principles of memory configuration:

• There are 4 memory channels per CPU, each with 3 memory slots.
• ECC DIMM, Registered DIMM, and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules must not be mixed.
• Memory slots without a processor present must not be populated.

Memory configuration for good system performance:
Distribute the memory evenly across the memory slots and evenly across the CPUs. If more than one CPU is present, the memory per CPU should be identical (mirrored to the other CPU).
