Information on memory configuration: The following technical specifications should be considered in advance: ECC DIMM (with Error-Correction-Code) or RDIMM (Registered DIMM) RAM can be installed in the device. RDIMM memory is recommended for achieving large memory capacities. The different memory technologies (ECC / RDIMM) should not be mixed. If a memory upgrade is to be made with the existing RAM, it must be checked which memory technology (ECC / RDIMM) is present. Memory slots without a processor should not be populated. When using a multiprocessor system, the memory slots should always be populated identically for each CPU. A higher memory clock of the memory module automatically adjusts to the memory clock specified by the system. This can especially occur with larger capacities.

Memory configuration for system performance: Optimal performance is achieved by using 4 or 8 identical memory modules per CPU. The memory should be populated identically per CPU (mirrored to the other CPU).
