Philips 55OLED806 Ambilight
55", OLED806, OLED, 4K, 2021Product details
The stunningly realistic image on this premium OLED TV, combined with the impressive 4-sided Ambilight, creates an exciting cinema experience. No matter what you watch or play, you’ll feel the action on the screen right in your living room. With Philips' 4-sided Ambilight, every moment feels real. Intelligent LEDs that surround the TV respond to the actions on the screen and shine so impressively that you are captivated. Experience it just once, and you’ll understand why you wouldn’t want a TV without Ambilight. The Philips P5 Engine with AI delivers a picture that feels so real, it’s as if you’re in the middle of the action. A deep learning AI algorithm processes images similarly to the human brain. Regardless of what you’re watching, you receive lifelike details and contrasts, vibrant colors, and smooth movements. With a Philips OLED TV, you can enjoy a uniquely realistic picture from a wider viewing angle. Blacks are deeper. Colors are more vivid. Details in shadows and highlights are rendered precisely. All common HDR formats are supported, so you can fully experience every scene.

- Very good picture
- Individual hearing profile
- Ambilight
- Only one triple tuner
- Sound volume could be better
The 55-inch OLED TV Philips 55OLED806 pleases with its very good picture quality. Its wide colour gamut and high peak brightness bring out HDR images impressively. The sound lacks a little volume despite the separate bass. Using a special app, its sound profile can be adjusted to your own hearing ability. With four-sided Ambilight, the boundaries of the screen become blurred.

The Philips 55OLED806 is a slim 4K/HDR TV with a 55-inch diagonal and a confidence-inspiring weight of 19.4 kilograms. Two feet in different colours (chrome, matt black) allow for an even more homogeneous integration into the living room ambience. The set-up is very easy, as the installation menu guides you step by step through the configuration...
Whether almost classic Philips extras like Ambilight or new additions like the Mimi app: The Philips 55OLED806 shone in the test with its numerous and useful extra functions. Using all of them requires some practice, and the remote control also takes some getting used to. However, the Philips OLED806 rewards the effort with clear sound and a great picture in currently unbeatable quality.
