Product details
PESOLA Tension Indicator (10 pieces) suitable for Medio-line spring scales, packaged in sets of 10. The PESOLA tension indicator is compatible with all Medio-line spring scales and consists of a plastic ring, newly designed with a smoothly gliding Teflon layer. The tension indicator can be easily placed over the scale tube. Before measuring, the tension indicator should be pushed to the zero point. When the scale is loaded, the tension indicator moves along and stops at the maximum force for each measurement. Suitable for tensile tests up to 1000 g. The fine spring scales of the Micro line cannot be equipped with tension indicators due to potential friction errors.
Influence of the friction resistance of the tension indicator on the measurement result:
- Operating condition of the tension indicator -> Friction value
- Immediately after first installation on the scale tube -> approx. 40 g / 0.4 N
- After one hour on the scale tube -> approx. 35 g / 0.35 N
- After one day on the scale tube -> approx. 28 g / 0.28 N, then remaining constant
To determine the exact value of a measurement with the tension indicator, its (small) friction resistance must be subtracted. Compare the operating condition of your tension indicator with the three variants mentioned above. The specified friction value should be subtracted from your own measurement unless it is a pure repeated comparative measurement where the absolute value of the measurement does not matter.
Tip: Install the new tension indicator and wait one day before taking the first measurements. This will establish the smallest and most stable friction value.
Caution: Greasy or dirty tube surfaces can slightly affect the measurement result due to the friction resistance of the tension indicator, as can compressing or pressing the tension indicator ring. The spring rebound during tensile tests can minimally shift very smooth tension indicators.
