Successful recordings are ensured by the intelligent automatic features as well as the built-in video light. The intelligent automatic function automatically activates different features depending on the recording conditions, such as face detection, autofocus tracking, intelligent scene selection, or intelligent contrast control.
The HDC-TM80 features 16 GB of internal flash memory, a wide-angle lens, optical image stabilization, a 34x optical zoom, iA intelligent automatic functions, and a touchscreen display.

Der Panasonic HDC-TM80 ist ein HD-Camcorder mit 16 GB Festspeicher und Speicherkarte (ein Steckplatz). Klassische längliche Bauform (horizontaler Camcorder). Günstig. Liefert passable Videos (Note: 3,0). Guter Autofokus. Ton insgesamt gut. Mikrofonwirkung mit Zoom gekoppelt. Kein Eingang für separates Mikrofon.
Wie Canon setzt der TM 80 auf die Kombination Festspeicher/Speicherkarte. Sein Chip löst jedoch deutlich geringer auf, was sich sowohl in der eher mäßigen Schärfe als auch im dunklen Lowlight-Bild bemerkbar macht. Bei Zoom und Weitwinkel spielt er jedoch vorne mit und punktet zudem mit praktischen Automatiken sowie manuellen Einstellungen.
Der Panasonic HDC-TM80 wurde mit einigen, zumindest in dieser Preisklasse, ziemlich einmaligen Möglichkeiten zur individuellen Einstellung der Bildparameter ausgestattet.
