Der HS 80 hat mit seiner Festplatte zwar einen großen Speicher, mit 1,5 Megapixeln ist sein Chip dafür eher klein. Am auffälligsten wird dies bei der mäßigen Schärfe und dem schwachen Lowlight-Bild. Davon abgesehen, bietet er den größten optischen Zoom und einen Bildstabilisator, der auch ruhig hält, sowie nützliche Funktionen wie Peaking oder die Vorabaufnahme.
