A Press Patch Box is a specialized audio signal distributor designed for the unique requirements of a press conference. It features separate inputs that allow for either a microphone or line signal (mixer output) to be connected.

It is also available in a stereo version (PPB20S).

A high-quality input amplifier with a balanced ground-free input allows for level adjustment over a wide range. There are 20 transformer-balanced XLR/m sockets with individually paired driver circuits available as outputs for video cameras or other audio recording devices.

The nominal output level is +4 dBu at 600 Ohms. Additionally, channels 19 and 20 are equipped with TRS jacks for balanced or unbalanced signals and RCA jacks (-10 dBu nominal level).

If more than 20 outputs are needed, additional PPB20 units can be cascaded via a rear BUS IN/OUT socket. Signal monitoring is facilitated by a 10-segment LED chain (display range -40 to +10 dB, with 0 dB corresponding to +4 dBu output) and an adjustable headphone amplifier.

The PPB20 features a built-in shielded power supply. An additional DC input allows for battery operation or emergency power supply. The PW4 is a suitable emergency power supply for two PPB20 units.
