Product details
Enhance the performance and capacity of your iMac with confidence. OWC's inline solution is the only hardware digital thermal sensor on the market that allows for the installation of a third-party SATA drive in your iMac. A convenient plug-and-play cable, the inline digital thermal sensor eliminates fan noise and ensures proper control of the system fan via the iMac's System Management Controller. This innovative device is specifically designed for the iMac, requires no software hacks, and guarantees compatibility with Apple's built-in diagnostic processes.
With an OWC Internal HDD DIY Kit (sold separately), you can replace your iMac's original hard drive with a drive of up to 8.0 TB or a lightning-fast SSD using a NewerTech Adaptadrive, achieving dramatic improvements in storage capacity or data speed while maintaining the original fan and diagnostic performance of the system.
Note: Before attempting this installation, please watch the OWC installation video for your device in its entirety to assess your ability to perform this complex upgrade.
If, after watching the OWC installation video, you are not completely confident that you can upgrade the drive in your 2009-2010 iMac, you can hire OWC to upgrade your iMac, where certified technicians will professionally upgrade your iMac and return it to you.
