OWC Data Doubler for iMac 2009-2011 Optical Bay Hard Drive / SSD Mounting Solution
Product details
Increase your storage capacity by adding up to 2.0 TB of internal storage with a second hard drive, or enjoy nearly instant boot and app loading times by adding a Solid State Drive (SSD).
Configuration flexibility is available when you replace the internal SuperDrive of your iMac from 2009-2011 with an OWC Data Doubler paired with a hard drive or SSD. The specially designed Data Doubler bracket is ready to mount any 2.5" SATA hard drive with a height of up to 12.5 mm.
Once you have installed the entire Data Doubler drive assembly into the optical drive bay of your iMac from 2009-2011, you can customize how your internal storage operates. Customizing the drive is simple and directly integrated into OS X, as the newly mounted Data Doubler drive can be set up using the Apple Disk Utility, where you can format the drive, create a RAID array with two drives, or partition the new drive. After formatting, you can also set up the second drive as a Time Machine backup, allowing you to take your backup with you wherever you go.
OWC provides free installation videos that guide you through this DIY upgrade step by step for each specific Mac model. The Data Doubler is also supported by OWC's award-winning, US-based technical support team, which is available to assist you with any questions regarding your upgrade at any time.
