Install any 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD in a 3.5" SATA hard drive bay.

Experience the speed advantage of solid-state drives or utilize an existing laptop hard drive in the 3.5" hard drive bay of a desktop Mac, PC, or external enclosure with the NewerTech AdaptaDrive 2.5" to 3.5" hard drive converter mounting frame. With industry-standard screw mounting holes for 3.5" drives, the AdaptaDrive allows for the installation of any 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD in a 3.5" SATA hard drive bay.

Compatible with all 2.5" drives, including the latest SATA 6Gb/s SSDs.

The AdaptaDrive supports 1.5Gb/s and 3.0Gb/s drives, allowing existing laptop hard drives to be used for additional storage; or a high-performance '3G' SSD like the OWC Mercury Electra 3G can be added to achieve an incredible speed boost for the system. Since the AdaptaDrive is made of aluminum and features an open design for maximum drive cooling, power users and gamers seeking maximum drive speed can now easily add the latest high-performance '6G' SSDs, such as the OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro 6G, and experience data transfer rates of over 500MB/s from their SATA Revision 3.0 (6Gb/s) compatible home or office computer or external drive.
