Product details
Introduction of the Netgear 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet High-Performance PoE+ Switch (GS316EPP) with 15 PoE+ ports and a total PoE budget of 231 W to power PoE applications such as VoIP phones, IP surveillance cameras, wireless access points, and more.
The GS316EPP includes basic and advanced network management features to optimize the performance of enterprise networks. Management is user-friendly via a web browser and a responsive interface for mobile management. Basic management features include VLANs, QoS, and IGMP snooping. Advanced management features include per-port PoE control and uninterrupted PoE.
Use VLANs to segment traffic for better speed and improved bandwidth, QoS to prioritize traffic for better delivery quality, and IGMP snooping for optimized multicast performance at Layer 2, which is particularly useful for bandwidth-intensive IP multicast applications like IPTV. Advanced per-port PoE controls manage the power of PoE-connected devices by enabling and disabling PoE power per port, PoE prioritization, per-port PoE power limiting, and more. Unique to Netgear is the uninterrupted PoE, allowing PoE to remain active even when the switch is updating firmware or performing a software reboot.
