Product details

The MXR Bass Distortion delivers thick, gnarly sounds with everything a bassist's heart desires. In close collaboration with indie pedal phenomenon, bass dirt guru, and Fuzzrocious Pedals founder Ryan Ratajski, we have redesigned a notorious, nasty-sounding distortion circuit for the modern bassist.

In the past, if you wanted to use a distortion pedal without neglecting the lows, you had to split the clean and dirty signals across two amps. With the MXR Bass Distortion, that’s no longer necessary - this pedal puts control over the clean/dirty mix at your feet with separate dry and wet level controls. The tone knob, which only affects the distortion signal, is a simple high-cut filter that allows you to roll off the highs, while the distortion knob determines the intensity of the distortion signal.

Finally, the MXR Bass Distortion comes in two flavors that can be selected via the LED/SIL switch. The standard SIL setting uses silicon clipping diodes for an aggressive, biting sound and a bit of compression, while the LED setting uses LED diodes for a wider, open sound and a nice gain bump.

  • Based on a classic distortion circuit known for its nasty sound
  • Separate dry and wet level controls
  • Choice between silicon and LED clipping diodes.
