The MSI Z270 Gaming M3 is an ATX mainboard with Intel's Z270 chipset for the Intel processors of the 6th ("Skylake") and 7th ("Kaby Lake") generation for the LGA1151 socket. The 200 series "Union Point"
chipsets have a maximum of 24 PCIe Express 3.0 lanes and generally have more HSIO lanes (High Speed I/O), which allows more internal connections (such as SATA or PCIe slots) to be used simultaneously. As a Z270 mainboard, the MSI Z270 Gaming M3 enables overclocking of K-series CPUs, which have a freely selectable multiplier.
