Description
The Moxa CP-114UL/UL-I series multiport serial cards are designed for system integrators in industrial automation for PC-based data acquisition applications over long distances and multiple points. The chip's automatic data direction control for precise RS-485 communication requires accurate timing to activate and deactivate the line driver. The Moxa Turbo Serial Engine™ chip that powers the CP-114UL/UL-I cards is equipped with On-Chip ADDC®, making RS-485 as easy to use as RS-232. In RS-485 mode, the serial interface can connect up to 31 RS-485 devices within a range of 1.2 km. For long-distance RS-485 communication, optical isolation with 2 KV is available to prevent device damage.
