Product details

VCV-Rack 2 is a freely available modular software synthesizer that operates under an open license. VCV-Rack simulates a Eurorack, which can be connected internally to virtual and real MIDI devices via both USB and MIDI connections. By default, VCV-Rack includes various modules in the form of VCOs, LFOs, mixers, and many more. Additionally, there is a wide selection of installable modules known as plugins. VCV-Rack 2 can also be used as a VST plugin in a DAW.

The bestselling author Erik Bartmann describes the installation and use of the modular synthesizer in over 320 pages in A4 format, featuring numerous full-color screenshots, photos, and illustrations. He also explores the physical and musical background of electronic sound generation. Many modules and plugins are presented in depth in the book.

Getting started in the world of modular synthesizers is easy and free with VCV-Rack. Those who are not yet sure how everything works with a modular synthesizer and what expansion options are available will find this software solution to be ideal. Anyone seriously interested in the world of modular synthesizers who does not want to spend money on corresponding hardware initially cannot overlook VCV-Rack. The knowledge and skills gathered here can be fully transferred and applied to a modular synthesizer made of physical hardware.
