MikroTik

Thanks to WPS support, you can easily integrate network devices into the network without entering a password. The access points can also function as a central network controller with the CAPsMAN feature. The connected access points are managed and controlled as clients in the managed WLAN. The network device has a built-in antenna that can send and receive data on a 2.4 GHz frequency band. Communication in the network is also possible via LAN cable. A total of four ports are available for the integration of wired devices. The home access point supports various established standards and functions. The integrated firewall reliably protects your network from unauthorized access. User control further enhances the security standard. Detailed bandwidth management can also be implemented. Thanks to Multi-SSID, you can operate multiple wireless network zones with different names and access rights using this access point. One option would be to set up separate network segments for individual departments or to operate smart home and IoT devices in separate zones. This way, visitors' smartphones do not have network access to PCs with confidential data. When expanding your wireless network with additional access points, ensure that the new APs support at least as many SSIDs per radio module as your router or WLAN controller.

Key specifications

Operating modes

Describes the function the device plays within the network, for example as a central transmitter, amplifier or connection bridge. A device can often support several modes.

Number of RJ45/LAN ports

Max. port speed

Describes the maximum data transfer rate. Is not necessarily supported by all ports.

Wi-Fi standard

Indicates which Wi-Fi protocol a device supports. Newer standards offer higher data transfer speeds and greater stability. A compatible router is required to use this feature.

Wi-Fi frequency band

The frequency band of a WLAN signal describes how many 2.4GHz or 5GHz signals the router can send simultaneously.

A router that uses dual- or even tri-band technology can better distribute the load in the network and thus rarely reaches its limit in terms of WLAN speed.
