Unlike its passive counterpart, the active speaker offers a combination of amplifier and speaker that are optimized for optimal sound reproduction. Therefore, you no longer need an external power amplifier; you only need a playback device to which you can connect the speakers directly. Issues such as tweeters overloaded by strong distortion from bass signals or damage from mismatched or overloaded components are effectively prevented.
