The HD-CD1 is the latest member of the new Marantz MusicLink series. It is a high-quality CD player in the same compact design as the HD-AMP1 amplifier, which it perfectly complements. It combines over 30 years of Marantz experience in CD playback with the latest developments in digital audio technology.
Therefore, it is ideally suited as a CD source in conjunction with the HD-AMP1 or as a CD player in all situations where a compact design is essential without compromising sound quality. Externally, it appears small, but inside it houses state-of-the-art Marantz technology derived from our best CD players. This includes a high-resolution D/A converter with 192 kHz / 24 bit from Cirrus Logic, a highly precise system clock, and the renowned HDAM-SA2 amplifier modules from Marantz, which are also used in our flagship CD players from the Reference series. Selected components are used throughout the audio signal path to ensure the best possible audio playback. The central CD mechanism can play standard CDs or self-recorded CDs with MP3, WMA, and AAC files, allowing for highly precise data extraction from the disc.
In addition to the analog audio outputs, optical and coaxial digital connections are supported. This allows the HD-CD1 to be connected directly to the extremely powerful D/A converter of the HD-AMP1. The HD-CD1 also features the stylish MusicLink design with a vibration-protected housing, a solid aluminum front panel, and elegant retro-style side panels. Another advantage is the integrated headphone amplifier with adjustable impedance, which also accommodates high-end headphones perfectly.
