Product details

Akai Katana is a side-scrolling shooter that was released in arcades in 2010. Later, a port for more advanced hardware was created in Japan under the name Akai Katana Shin, and thanks to the 16:9 aspect ratio, the game became even more intuitive. Eventually, Cave developed a third version, Zetsu Akai Katana, which revised the game's quality of life and balance. Each game requires a different tactic, so be prepared.

Experience an overload of excitement with CAVE's latest entry in the shmup arena, Akai Katana. Immerse yourself in an epic story set in the Taisho era, featuring three titles from the Akai Katana series by Cave that have captured the hearts of passionate shoot 'em up fans.

People have discovered the powerful blood swords. It requires human sacrifices to unleash their immense destructive power.

The Empire uses these swords to annihilate neighboring countries. Katana is the second CAVE release that offers horizontal battles in stunning HD. Get ready for a new definition of 'Bullet Hell'!

New features include new musical arrangements by Daisuke Matsumoto, an online leaderboard, and much more.
