The new KAT6A LIGHT patch cables from the SLIM brand set new standards in network technology. These thin cables facilitate patching for 10 Gigabit applications thanks to their extremely flexible and slim design.

The LIGHT patch cables are round, twisted pair, shielded, and meet the requirements for transmitting 10, 100, 1000 MBit, and now even 10 Gigabit.

Another significant advantage of the LIGHT patch cables is the flame-retardant outer jacket material and a special RJ45 connector, which features a unique material that prevents the latch from breaking. The latch can be bent back and forth hundreds of times without breaking.

Power over Ethernet transmission according to IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at is also possible. Additionally, this cable features our specially developed end design, characterized by easy pressing of the latch and a narrow, short form factor.

Typical application areas for the LIGHT patch cables include:
- Overcrowded server or network cabinets or cable ducts
- Switches with high port densities: With very short cables, you can easily patch from switch to switch or switch to panel without a cable management panel
- Connecting end devices at the desk (VoIP phones, printers, PCs, laptops), as the cables are extremely flexible and easy to lay on a desk
- Applications in industry or manufacturing where Ethernet connections are needed but space is limited
- As a patch cable in the technician's or field worker's laptop bag
- In private settings, to run a patch cable under the carpet, along the chair rail, or even through a window seal.

Patch cable type

The cable type, describes the structure of a network cable. Fiber optic cables are suitable for distribution over longer distances (up to 80 km) and are resistant to interference. Copper cables can be used for distances up to 100 m and are cheaper to purchase.

Contact assignment

The contact assignment provides information on how the network cable can be used. An uncrossed cable can be used to connect terminals to the network, while a crossed cable can be used to connect two terminals.
