LWL (Optical Fiber)
While a conventional signal in a copper cable is susceptible to electrical interference, optical cables operate flawlessly even under the most challenging conditions. Additionally, optical fibers do not affect electronics. Due to the low attenuation of optical cables, distances of up to 550 meters can be covered.
Multimode with fiber diameter of 50/125 µm
Certain systems require higher data rates. With conventional multimode fibers, data throughput of up to 10 Gbps can be achieved, but only over a distance of up to 84 meters. The differences in signal timing present in multimode fibers have been minimized in the OM3 fiber through special processes in the core area. This allows transmission distances of up to 300 meters.
LC Connector
The LC connector is a high-performance optical fiber connector for singlemode and multimode applications, featuring an insertion loss of only 0.1 dB and a return loss of 55 dB. The design of the LC connector is based on a single-fiber ceramic ferrule with a diameter of 1.25 mm for an optical fiber.
