While a conventional signal in a copper cable is susceptible to electrical interference, optical cables operate flawlessly even under the most challenging conditions. Additionally, optical fibers do not affect electronics. Due to the low attenuation of optical cables, distances of up to 550 meters can be covered.

Multimode with fiber diameter of 50/125 µm
The fiber optic cable consists of three layers. The core of the optical medium has a diameter of 50 µm and is made of glass, which transmits the information. It is surrounded by a cladding with a diameter of 125 µm that reflects stray light. The outer coating provides protection against mechanical damage and is made of plastic.

SC Connector
Duplex SC connectors are standard connectors for fiber optic cabling. They feature automatic locking and a twist protection mechanism. Their use is recommended for new installations of computer networks using fiber optic technology. The connector is suitable for both single-mode and multimode fibers.
