Extended compatibility through adapters
Adapters allow the use of different lenses on various cameras, even if they were not originally designed for each other and have different connections. In most cases, the imaging behavior of the lens does not change with an adapter, as meticulous attention is paid to the construction of the adapter. The ability to focus to infinity is usually preserved, although this may not be possible with certain combinations due to excessive distances between the lens and the sensor.

This adapter enables the use of Nikon G lenses on cameras with a Canon RF mount. Nikon G lenses do not have an aperture ring; the aperture is typically set by the camera. When using this adapter, the aperture can be manually selected via an aperture lever on the adapter. Special care should be taken when mounting wide-angle and fisheye lenses to the adapter.

Manual operation
Some adapters transmit electrical signals between the camera and the lens, allowing for fully automatic exposure programs and autofocus. Others do not, requiring the photographer to operate the lens manually—though this is not a significant barrier even for beginners in photography. With this adapter, only manual operation is possible with Nikon G lenses.

Compatible with Nikon F lenses as well
Nikon F series lenses can also be mounted on this adapter. They can only be used manually. Their aperture can only be controlled on the lens itself, not via the aperture lever on the adapter. GE-series lenses can be attached, but they cannot be used efficiently, as their aperture can only be adjusted electronically.
