Product details

Who doesn't know it? When you press a key on the keyboard all the way down, the characteristic click sound occurs. This happens quite frequently while typing in everyday life. Therefore, soft O-rings made of rubber or silicone are in high demand, especially for popular mechanical keyboards, to reduce the noise generated while typing.

The durable noise dampener rings from King Mod are placed on the base of each keycap and cushion the keystroke, preventing any collision between the mechanical switch and the switch housing. This slightly reduces the maximum key travel of Cherry MX switches. Overall, this creates a consistently uniform, quieter typing sound, and the cushioning helps reduce fatigue during longer typing sessions. In this version, the bottoming out is a bit firmer, resulting in a less soft feel.

During installation, it is necessary to remove each individual keycap once. Then, the base of each key is fitted with one of the O-rings, and the keycap is finally put back on. By applying gentle pressure on the keys, the rings are then secured. The noise dampeners are compatible with most keyboards that use Cherry MX switches and are made from tear-resistant, fatigue-resistant material.

This package contains 125 blue rubber rings made of EPDM, which have a Shore hardness of 50A. These blue noise dampeners may affect the lighting of keyboards with LED backlighting.
