TW3 12-Inch Subwoofer (400 W, dual 4 Ω voice coils) is based on the core technology of our TW5 flat subwoofers and offers a powerful combination of shallow mounting depth and excursion capability. In fact, they are capable of achieving greater excursion than the W3v3s. To enable this remarkable performance, JL Audio's patented flat woofer technology compresses the architecture of the TW3s using a concentric tube structure integrated into the injection-molded cone body. This structure supports the voice coil and a complete annular spider while allowing the placement of the large motor structure further forward in the speaker than traditional designs. The TW3s are optimized for small enclosures and feature our Tab-Ear mounting design to maximize the cone surface within their mounting areas.
