The extended data protection during power failure prepares the SSD for an unexpected loss of system power by minimizing the amount of data relayed through temporary buffers. Additionally, it utilizes an integrated capacity for power loss protection to provide the SSD firmware with sufficient energy to move data from the transmission buffer and other buffers into the NAND, thereby protecting system and user data. Hardware encryption is a data encryption that occurs at the drive level. This secures the data stored on the drive from unauthorized access. The high-endurance technology in SSDs combines chip enhancements of Intel NAND flash memory and SSD system management techniques to improve the write cycles of the SSD. A write cycle is defined as the amount of data that can be written to an SSD over its lifespan.
