Product details
Haida 67 mm ND 0.9 Graduated Neutral Density Filter
Light balancing between sky and ground. Haida graduated filters are used to darken the sky or foreground. They are tinted neutral gray for half of their area, transitioning softly into the uncolored half of the filter. The rotatable Haida filter holder allows for precise horizontal alignment when the filter is securely attached.
A Haida graduated filter is primarily used to balance an overly bright sky. For exposure measurement, the camera or handheld light meter should be aimed down at the correctly exposed foreground without the graduated filter. This will almost always automatically yield the optimal effect for the sky. Exposure adjustments to compensate for the absorption in the dense part of the graduated filter should be kept minimal to avoid overly diminishing the filter effect. If exposure measurement is done through the filter, a negative correction of about 0.5 stops can be beneficial.
- Adjustment of brightness differences
- Ideal for landscape photography
- Smooth gradient from edge to center
- Suitable for both analog and digital cameras
Due to the strong light attenuation of three stops (max. 3 stops), this graduated filter can lead to quite dramatic effects.
