The IB-AC703-C for a 2.5" SATA hard drive/SSD consists of a SATA III to USB 3.0 Type-C adapter, including power supply and a plastic housing. Both can be used individually or together. The adapter can also be connected to a new USB 3.1 Type-C device via USB 3.0 Type-C, but it only achieves the typical USB 3.0 transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/s.

With USB 3.0 Type-C, speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s can be reached. This makes data transfer fast and reliable, and the new Type-C connector is also designed to be twist-proof. The adapter is HotSwap and Plug & Play capable, allowing for driver-free operation and quick swapping of the hard drive.

Along with the appropriate protective case (for HDD heights up to 9.5 mm), the hard drive is well protected against shocks and dust while on the go. The new USB 3.0 Type-C connection is smaller than its predecessors, making it the future of high-speed mobile data transfer. The 2.5" SATA to USB 3.0 Type-C hard drive adapter can be used in combination with the included plastic protective case or separately. The advantage of the adapter over external hard drive enclosures is that the hard drive can be quickly changed without the need for screws or other tools.
