Product details

On August 2, 1990, Iraq launched an invasion of Kuwait. In response, the multinational coalition forces developed and executed Operation "Desert Storm." The operation began on January 17, 1991, with a massive air and missile assault by the allied forces. The ground phase of the operation involved the U.S. Marine Corps, whose aircraft were armed with OV-10 Bronco planes in various modifications. These aircraft were stationed in Saudi Arabia and belonged to the 3rd Marine Air Wing, responsible for command, target acquisition, and communication. The OV-10 Broncos identified fire positions of the Iraqi forces, which were later targeted by American attack aircraft and naval artillery. They also supported the Marines' assaults. This operation marked the last deployment of OV-10 Bronco aircraft in the U.S. Marine Corps, and they were officially withdrawn from combat operations in 1994. However, various modifications of these aircraft continued to be used in other countries.
