Looking for an enterprise-grade controller for internally attached drives without occupying a PCIe expansion slot? The HPE Smart Array E208i-a SR Gen10 controller supports 12 Gb/s SAS drives and PCIe 3.0. It has eight internal SAS lanes that enable connections to SAS or SATA drives. The controller supports mixed mode operation of RAID and HBA simultaneously and encrypts dormant data on all drives. This Type A modular controller occupies one dedicated storage slot and no PCIe expansion slot.

The HPE Smart Array E208i-a SR Gen10 controller is a large enterprise-ready controller that provides the basic elements for simple RAID storage solutions. When connected to 12 Gb/s internal storage units, it enables 12 Gb/s SAS connections on HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers.

The HPE Smart Array E208i-a SR Gen10 controller protects data at rest via HPE Smart Array SR Secure Encryption (optional license) on all drives connected to the controller. You can comply with confidential data regulations such as HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley with HPE Smart Array SR Secure Encryption. HPE SmartSSD Wear Gauge preserves data integrity and alerts you to potential drive failures before a drive fails.

The HPE Smart Array E208i-a SR Gen10 controller provides greater flexibility in mixed mode by operating in RAID and HBA simultaneously, eliminating the need to purchase another controller. The UEFI storage configuration tool allows you to quickly configure simple RAID volumes on servers. The tool also simplifies scripting support to configure an array via iLO using the RESTful interface. Quickly set up, configure, and manage drives connected to the controller with HPE Smart Storage Administrator (SSA). This is an intuitive interface for creating RAID volumes, managing advanced controller features, and deploying smart array solutions.
